I used to live, and very much miss living in this ecclectic
neighborhood. We had a block party party every year; the "Kirby Derby"
with parades, (men in) drag races, home-made soap box and pinewood
derby (small wooden cars on a track) It has grown into quite the party.

Boylan Heights Neighborhood
This neighborhood, one of Raleigh's oldest puts on an "Artwalk" every

Cooke St. Oakwood Neighborhood
This ecclectic neighborhood used to have a "carnival" every fall. Click

street borders Historic Oakwood.
Lions Park/ Edmunds St Area
I Have not had a chance to get to Durham, which is 30 minutes West of
Raleigh but my efforts cyberscouting have yielded these two
Neighborhood- I found out
about this amazing neighborhood that works to integrate families
with folks that have disabilities. It’s pretty cool. Perhaps this
would be an

tight knit neighborhood in Durham that a friend who lives there told me
about; I think they have a street festival every April;
West Durham Neighborhood
HERE for the
